daverclasper
Hi. Recently developed. Tried rolling the car backwards with some left hand lock, though couldn't hear anything (though was some traffic around) and nothing that was visually obvious Any pointers, as only have a short window to examine car. Cheers
Colin Lindsay
Tyres, either rubbing on the ground (they scrub on full lock, one side more than the other depending on the direction of turn) or rubbing off the wheelarches?
daverclasper
Thanks Colin. It's nowhere near full lock, when it does it. I did alter the bonnet height a wee bit on that side, so will check wheel arch clearance (maybe why I couldn't hear anything, rolling car with bonnet up). Good call, cheers
NonMember
My Spitfire used to make such noises because the tyre was catching the inner return lip at the front of the wheel arch. IT never looked like it should but after a while the results of the rubbing were obvious.
daverclasper
Thanks Guys. It was only the rubber flap, from inner wheel arch/bulkhead that had disintegrated and was hanging down, rubbing tyre, in reverse and on lock. Phew!
