TwigNshiz
Hi again so my 1200 gear box wont disengage (wont go into netural) im wondering if its the syncros that are gone and if so how hard is a diy rebuild on the box? Many thanks - Twig
johny
Wont be synchros but more likely to be a worn gear lever linkage which is external to the gearbox. The replacement bushes etc come as a kit and theres plenty on here about changing them👍

johny
Yes the linkage has a couple of bushes which can fall apart so you pull the lever but not much happens at the other end to engage or disengage gears. The gearbox cardboard/plastic cover will need to come off but then it can all be done without removing the gearbox or getting access into the gears... Josef
Suggest you buy your rebush kit from Canley Classics. The quality of these kits is sadly variable, but Canleys have a good reputation for these and I know the one I bought earlier this year was good.
