PeteH
As some of you may have heard, I aquired "Plum" from Jeff. Now safely back in Yorkshire, after the "journey from Hell". I am taking soundings over the best Insurance route. Quick searches appear to bring a spread of between £80(ish) and about £150 or there abouts for the cover I need. Any recent experiences "out there" I would apreciate, who to AVOID, might be a good idea too. I quick "club" check puts theirs at circa £130. Would be good to get it set up before weekend as we have a Show and Shine locally. Pete Edited July 5, 2023 by PeteH
KevinR
Pete, Do you have any other "Club" cars on an insurance policy ? If so, who is it with. Peter James (and many of the other previous insurers that the Club had agreements with) have "Multicar" policies available, and it is usually a lot cheaper to ADD an additional car to a multicar policy, rather than taking out a new policy for the additional car. Also, don't forget to get the Agree Value form completed and submitted - the previous agreed valuation lapses on change of ownership !
PeteH
The insurers for my Daily/Towed car. Are Direct Line. The Motorhome is with a specialist insurer. As far as I am aware neither do “multicar”,but worth checking. looking at my needs, I don’t require Euro cover, and already have blanket recovery on any vehicle via my RAC cover. But agreed value is needed of priority. Pete
Jeffds1360
I used that Meerkat thingy then went direct to the first few. Lancaster were best at £80. My other cars were with AA but they do not seem interested in classics

Chores to do first though. Club one was the most expensive quote, but with bells and whistles I don’t really need. Pete

Strangely, I just had a conversation with Lancaster, The agent said a TSSC valuation is all that is needed, when I queried it he went back to his manager and they too confirmed they are accepting TSSC values. Actually just waiting on a return call from another source before making the decision. Lunch Next!. Pete

Jeffds1360
Well pleased. Did you try the reversing warning? By the way, the clamp on the clutch cylinder is just to dampen the vacuum gauge tube. Other methods are available but I had that pipette/burette holder handy and i miss it.
