Engine mount distance plate

I don't have these fitted .... do I need them?

 

From what I can see this looks like a shim that moves the engine forward slightly.  I don't need to do this, but do they perform another function?

Think they move it rearwards, which would aid fan clearance

 

if they have been missing a long while , then dont worry too much about it

 

it may affect the gearbox mount alignments
