andyshep
In my spares pile I have a recon rack that appears to be triumph herald but is narrower than what’s on my 13/60. Anyone got an idea what it’s off. Could it be a 948 ?? Andy
Peter Truman
I have a rebuilt early Herald rack supplied by an authorised Leyland dealer here in the mid 70’s it has removable alloy mounting blocks no rubber insulation blocks
andyshep
Sorry should have explained better, by narrower I mean the overall width. I will get it down from the loft in the workshop and get some measurements.
Colin Lindsay
There is another post on here about narrow / wide steering racks; I never knew there was any width difference and just fitted whichever rack I'd rebuilt to whichever car needed it, with no visible problems. fungus
The rack on my 948 coupe is just slightly narrower then was on the 13/60 I had. The boots at each end are identical unlike later ones that had one at the rack end with larger inside opening.
