SpitfireGeorge
Hi Guys, My 67 Spitfire Mk3 is ready for the road again after 40 years. I reckon it is worth £12-£15k but it cost more than twice that amount to restore. Should I insure it for its sales value or the restoration cost? Cheers, Brett
DerekS
Morning Brett, if you had a valuation carried out by the TSSC you would have a clear, tangible value that the insurers would recognise as a starting point. May be worth talking to your insurers as well to see if they would accept documentary evidence. Definitely TSSC first though, quick, easy and very obliging. Pete Lewis
tssc values reflect the cost of a replacement , pete
Colin Lindsay
Insurance prices are waaayyyyy up this year, just for the modern - got a renewal of £830 for the Freelander. I dread to think what the Herald will cost me.
