SpitfireGeorge
Hi Guys, Got the trimmer coming round tonight to have a look at fitting my new soft top. It already has the four poppers fitted for both rear quarters but nothing for fitting to the hood retainer rear panel part 715842. Any idea how the hood is attached to that? Spitfire mk3 1967. Cheers, Brett
Josef
The hoot retainer bit that bolts to the rear deck should be glued to the hood, there’s a flap which it’ll clamp down on when bolted down. Then it should have three (I think, there will be the right number of holes in the metal) poppers to attach the tonneau / hood bag fitted through the hood material and the metal. SpitfireGeorge
Thanks Josef. Are the three poppers attached to the hood retainer and then come through the hood material for the hood bag? Cheers, Brett

They’re attached through the retainer and hood material. So the outer bit of the popper sits on top of the hood and the inner bit under the metal strip.
