Colin Lindsay
Alternatively known as 'LLL' or 'Lift, Look and Lubricate' which conjours up all sorts of disturbing images. Once a year the club descends on my house for tea, sticky buns and a service for anyone whose Triumph requires it, up on the lift for gearbox and diff oiling, handbrake greasing, general underbody checks for damage rust or leaks, and trunnion oiling. I always believed that as I'm fortunate to own a good-sized garage and a lift, then I should use it for the benefit of local members as a thanks for their help and friendship throughout the rest of the year. The weather was superb, a good number of cars attended for the morning's work and completely used up my stock of GL4 - some very empty gearboxes this year - and one or two worrying defects rectified that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. As the song says: that's what it's all about. Don't know if I'm fit enough to put my left leg in any more, let alone shake it all about... The weather was superb, half of my cheapie oil cans refused to work, there's gearbox oil everywhere, and I emerged after four hours under various Triumphs looking like a coalminer. After lunch we had a few more cars arrive for a short drive to a very nice coffee stop then a run of about 60 miles to a forest viewpoint, and then off for the evening meal and dispersed for home. An excellent day, no breakdowns, no mishaps, no-one got lost and Simon the BMW driver (his Spitfire is playing up) took some drone footage that I haven't seen yet. Today is recovery, then tomorrow the cleanup begins.

The roads are excellent (for the most part) and, on many, we drove for miles without meeting any other vehicles - main roads too, not back roads. I'm wondering where everyone else was! Some of the drone photos have arrived back:
