Colin Lindsay
Anyone want to guess the model and maybe the application of the Stromberg carb in the photos? Lying in my drawer, very good condition. No identification numbers bar 848 on the intake flange and once cleaned, 502 appeared in the same area beside the threaded hole for the air filter bolt. It also says 'SR' on one of the cams, no other identification marks anywhere. All ideas very welcome.

Colin Lindsay
It should be a 1.5, haven't checked if it's a 1.75 - was possibly Hillman Hunter? Can't remember the original application. Edited May 31 by Colin Lindsay
Peter Truman
To cold to go into the garage and check only 7C this morning, if it's 1.5in it looks very similar to the 150CD front carb fitted to the Mk2 Vitesse with the choke enrichment set up, but it's missing the pipe for choke balance to the rear carb, but the hole's there. Attached is a photocopy from the Handbook note SR on the choke lever.
Josef
I’m in the process of rebuilding Gt6 Mk2 CD150S-es, and it looks very similar to the front carb (similar to Peter T’s comment). I’d also noticed the SR on the choke lever/cam on mine and wondered what that was supposed to signify. Though there looks like there’s a small detail difference in how the choke cable inner attaches to the carb vs the one I have.
Peter Truman
Well I got into the garage but its onlyy14C today Cooold. Here's the actual Mk2 Vitesse Carbs, first photo shows the choke cold start bypass set up and its cam SR, which I also found a reference in an article as SRZ, what the difference is? The choke balance pipe between front and rear carb is displaced for clarity. Josef the second photo shows the Vitesse throttle lever, which is on the rear of the rear carb close to the bulkhead and starter solenoid (too close!) The 3rd photo is the choke balance pipe between the front and rear carb. Colin looking at your carb this balance pipe brass offtake is missing Edited June 1 by Peter Truman

Colin looking at your carb this balance pipe brass offtake is missing Definitely the same sort of 150 carb, which is why I picked it up for a tenner years ago for potential spares for the Triumph carbs, but it's single carb only, hence the lack of balance pipe, or I hope the hole is blanked off anyway. Most of the rest are.. It's been many years however I'm still thinking the seller claimed it was Hillman, and possibly Hunter, but I can't find any reference numbers on the body at all.
