johny
Never used one Dave but Im sure theyre fine its just that with a screw type I can take readings on my own (provided Ive got the right adaptor of course)...
dannyb
Easier with a screw in but the push ones work OK. Depends on how you are going to spin the engine. If on the key you need someone to help. Danny
Pete Lewis
last used a bung type on a past Renault 21 1721 with a result approaching 190psi it blew the thing across the garage so prefere the screw in and means as said you can do it single handed always check tappets first and get the throttles held open ,all plugs out and a good battery Pete
johny
I suppose the answer if youre going to use a bung type compression tester without help is hold it on with one hand and operate a remote starter switch with the other. These are available to buy or make one up yourself and easy to use on our cars....
dougbgt6
Dave, Being Mr Clumsy I don't like things that fly out my hands at high velocity. Buy a screw in one, you can get them cheap for £10, I've got two. One tells me I've around 148 + or - 3 on all pots, the other says 135, it doesn't matter, it's that they're all about the same that matters.
