Kiwi OJ
Might be a silly question, but how closely matched to Stromberg CD150 S carbs need to be? (1970 GT6) My front one was v. corroded and I've got a single replacement from Australia (might be off a Holden!). The metering needle is the same as my existing carb: 6AC, and the cold start valve is identical (even down to the lack of seasonal adjuster), but the mating face for the air filter has a slightly different shape (although all the holes line up). Are there any tests that I should do? Should I expect to end up with widely differing settings for idle & mixture between the carbs? Or am I worrying about nothing 😉
Pete Lewis
the only other thing to check is the damper spring (check the wire dia) and loose lengths and the diaphragm retaining rings weight (there are a few of these )and the jet should be 0.090" dia. otherwise mix and match is easy Pete
