Which way round?

You know they say photograph everything before you take it apart.  Well I did but.... 

Camera decided to wipe the card, of all it photos for no apparent reason.  I have data recovery software on my PC but according to that the  card is totally blank. ??????

Thing is now I can't remember how the hinges on the glove box were fitted.  Anyone got any idea or could post a photo.

I thought they would only fit one way but both seem to work.

I don't know, but I would guess hinge on top because you've got the thickness of the dash. If the hinge goes underneath it you can't get it over the dash.

Forgot to day it's a 948 coupe.

I'd guess inside the lid (looks neater??), you may be able to make out the proper orientation of the hinges in this diagram. The slots go to the horizontal edge for adjustment against the dashboard, and the part inside the lid itself have the outer screwed edges tight to the metal and the recessed central bit away from it, as you have in the visible photo.

I aggree inside does look better, it was just the fact that there is the recese which looks like it's for the hinge thickness.

I may be over thinking this.....

I've got absolutely no idea!! Despite having had a 948 Coupe I never even looked at that bit and have no reference photos. Nothing on the Net either. I'll keep looking for curiosity's sake.
