How concerned should I be

Oh, no, that's not quite right! Perplexed that the silver trim at the top goes all the way across the gap.

Yeah didn't think that looked right

It’s not the best panel fit, and the paint has brush strokes in it! But does it work? Heralds are hard to get looking absolutely perfect panel gap wise, so I’d not stress too much about anything that’s not impairing the function of the car. So if the doors open and shut ok, all good.

You can probably shuffle the trim forward a bit. Or maybe someone’s fitted the wrong one. Easy way to tell is measure both sides of the bonnet along the trim line, same with the doors and wings. If they’re the same ish, everything is just cosmetic.

My first car was a Herald, in 2007, I’ve still got it!

Bonnet and door fit is adjustable on the small chassis Triumphs. With patience and trial and error tweaking of the adjustments, you can most likely get these gaps looking better, though as Josef says, panel gaps were never Triumph's string point.

I would start by getting the rear edge of the  door fitting well against the leading edge of the rear wing, then try adjusting the bonnet.

Check the bonnet top panel where it meets the bulkhead all the way across under the screen; I can see some gap there. That will limit how far you can move the bonnet backwards. What are the gaps like at the B-posts? That will tell you how far the doors can move forwards. Once you get to know these cars you'll find what can be moved or adjusted to improve things but it's not structural.

That overlong trim is just the wrong one off another section of the car - is there a short one somewhere?

bonnet to base of screen gap looks around ok ,the door needs to move forwards , but how close is the vent frame from the A post ??

there is a lot of adjustment of the door hinges but so many other foul ups constrain any body shift is a real trial of

strong tea and resilience ,        most have a lack of gaps its unusual to have too large

are both sides the same ???
