Nigel Clark
Impact adhesive is best, or upholstery spray adhesive: https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVO-STIK-Timebond-Adhesive-High-Strength-Multipurpose/dp/B0001P03VK/ref=asc_df_B0001P03VK/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697325608973&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=61786981682334453&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046180&hvtargid=pla-422148041473&psc=1&mcid=2d335fc4462a380c8f7dff2a7605b779&th=1&psc=1&gad_source=1 Or... https://www.frost.co.uk/spray-adhesive-aerosol-500ml/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwuG1BhCnARIsAFWBUC3PY2jbwVpuIqu5lNEaWW_FCNdxQLNdzc-dWOV2rBJuGYQrA0ZfdKIaAnd-EALw_wcB Nigel
chrishawley
6 hours ago, Graham C said: when folded back on it self It is indeed very hard to find any general adhesive which can withstand the gradual 'unfolding' effect on return edges and especially where the base is metal.. Trim Fix Adhesive (e.g. https://www.justkampers.com/trim-fix-adhesive-500ml-high-temperature-resistant.html) is popular and pretty good but only up to a point. I've taken to doing one of two things to cope with the difficult situations of which GT6 centre trim is an example: • Where it wil be unseen, to use Self Adhesive Foil Tape (e.g. Wickes) to secure folded edges in addition to the glue • To affix folds and returns with sparing application of T EURO T3020 PU adhesive (similar to Tigerseal). Cures slowly so needs clamping for several hours but once set is immovable. Not, though, at all suitable as a general trim adhesive; Only to secure the 'difficult ' bits. DanMi
use a 2 part contact adhesive as used to stck the tubes together on rhibs or diving drysuits e.g. https://seaskin.co.uk/product/stormoprene-2-part-contact-adhesive-250ml/#:~:text=One of the best contact, braces or pockets to drysuits. keeps the seals on my drysuit stuck down for years and they have a hard life
