Mack
I took my wiper motor apart after it stopped working properly on the rain the other day. The wiper motor was pretty hot after a 20 min drive, during which the wipers stopped twice and had to be pushed from the outside to get them working again. I stripped the motor and cleaned out the copious amounts of grease and then re greased and did same to the flex wire. When I removed the gearbox cover plate there were some obvious witness marks from the armature and when the motor is in operation the axel has quite a lot of up and down movement. Is there supposed to be a circlip or something on outer top end of the axel to limit it's movement? (blue arrow) Thanks
johny
There certainly is! Measure up and see if theres something suitable on ebay? In the meantime in similar situations Ive got by using a length of suitable size wire wrapped round in the groove and twisted to pull it tight as possible....
