It seems I need a new fuel sender (Fuel Tank Sender Unit - 1200 & 13/60 Estate - 127814).  These a re no longer available in all the places I've searched. Can I use another sender and adapt it for the Estate tank?

Thanks, Des

both 6 hole and bayonet standard tank units are available i dont see why a bit of work would not convert your

estate float arm  to fit a saloon tank sender

ie cut and sleeve the float wire to suit

you can even remove the cover and swap the arm and sweep contact as an assy

its do able diy

If youre feeling really adventurous you could try modifying one of these. The resistance range and flange is correct - no idea of quality but at that price its worth a go rather than paying the stupid prices elsewhere....

You may be able to take yours apart and fix it. My mk2 spitfire one was not working so I stripped it and it just needed the varnish from old fuel cleaned up, it has now worked fine for 12 years

Thanks for the suggestions. I may have found the correct part with Mick Dolphin (he's checking) but if not, trying these option is sequence will sort it out.

Hi!  I think you remember the problems I had with my sender? (See Fuel Sender/Gauges) Trying to find the right one for my 1966 vitesse 1600/6 finding a non stabilised Sender was a nightmare  😫

I knew I had a spare one somewhere for reference but the one I dug out has turned out to be GT6... (didn't even know I had that one!!) but eventually found the estate version which is Smiths TB1114/007. Seized solid, sadly.

However it measures 6" round all the bends and including the curve for the float, and kit-car suppliers often have a range of generic ones that can be bent to shape.

They looks very similar to the one I posted above  Colin but a lot more expensive I bet. Rather than bend the arm to suit I think I would cut it off (or remove if possible) and reuse the arm from the original - assuming its in acceptable condition of course...
