PatK Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Good evening all, just a quick question, will GT6, 1/4 light rubber seals also fit the Vitesse and Herald. ? If not, does anyone know where we can obtain a pair please. I have finally managed to get the 1/4 light frame out of the Vitesse and found that the rubber seals are cracked and split, so definitely in need of replacement. Many Thanks Pat.
johny Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 All the main suppliers should have them Pat, certainly Paddocks have. Dont know what quality of rubber is like though...
PatK Posted November 2 Author Report Posted November 2 Thanks Johny, ,I will give them a call on Monday. I did an internet search but nothing came up, plenty of Stag ones and GT6 ones, but no Herald or Vitesse ones
Peter Truman Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 I replaced mine around 20 years ago the LH fitted great but the RH was too thick near the locking lever and needed a lot of Dremmeling to be acceptable, my old ones had perished terribly the new ones still OK even in our climate
johny Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Yes as I say all the main suppliers should have them and all from the same after market manufacturer but at different prices...

Pete Lewis Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 not looked but do CO Baines produce them ??? Pete
Josef Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 To fully answer, no, GT6 ones will not fit, they’re a very different shape!

A quick Google search shows quite a few but on checking they're nearly all Stag so you need to be sure the ones you order are definitely Herald / Vitesse versions, which are readily available too.

PatK Posted November 4 Author Report Posted November 4 Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I rang James Paddock this morning and they have them in stock, ( £63.00 a pair ) ouch ! They also have the leather washers and spring clips for the window connection to the raising and lowering arm. Many Thanks Pat
johny Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 Great let us know what you think of the quality. As to the longevity of the rubber thats more difficult to ascertain but unfortunately I dont expect they'll last as long as the originals (mine are getting to the end after 55+ years)...

johny Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 The fixed head rear side window rubbers are even worse!
