Paul H Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 The C pillar badge/logo on my mk2 Vitesse is looking worse for wear and metal pitting . Considering replacement though see other colours , blue , red and the black like mine . Are the colours for different models ? Paul .

Jon J 1250 Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Be careful taking them off, they’re a very tight fit. Also the spring clips that the legs on the back of the badge fix into are not captive to the bodywork, so will probably fall down inside the C pillar when you remove the badge (ask me how I know 😜). Triumph must’ve fitted the badges before the headlining or something, it’s an odd arrangement. If you lose the clips I’ve heard it’s pretty standard to fix the badges on with Tigerseal or similar. Colin Lindsay Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 I know that blue ones were for most saloons (early ones read 'Herald') and red ones were for the uprated 12/50. Black must be Vitesse? The clips are a sort of cone shape with two lugs, they push into the hole first then the badge is pressed in afterwards. 1

The pic below is a NOS roof I picked up and show the holes for the badge Paul
Colin Lindsay Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 You can get away with the more modern 'rawlplug' type of badge fitting, just make sure the ones you get are the right size for the badge lugs. I think the pillar badge lugs are bigger than the bonnet or boot lettering ones that use these type of fitting.
