Hi all, on the general theme has anyone come across Francis & Marshall? Their name is on the number plate of my TR6 with the 'Austin Morris' logo and whilst I have some history of the car I don't know where it has been on its travels too much. I suspect it could be London based.

Thanks.

This was posed on the TRR website by "RogerH" as having appeared on a local Fb page: https://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/66786-flying-standards/

Of interest to dealer collectors?

"Splendid": now there's a word that's fallen into disuse. Shame really, as I'm heartily sick of everything being "amazing"...

thanks for posting.  Unfortunately the TR Register moved my Post about Triumph Dealers into their members only section.  This image posted above comes from another post to which I am excluded so thanks again for reposting it here.

Do you think the reg plates are original?  If so the reg will give you a clue as to where it was first registered.

If you have a heritage cert for your car it will probably include details of the dealer the car was dispatched to by Triumph works.

I have lots of dealers directories http://vitessesteve.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/triumph-car-dealer-directories.html

where dealers are listed by town and or county.

Hello Steve,

I have a few friends in NZ and will ask them if they can assist - they are of that era to recall such matters.

The exhibition concerning East Sussex I spoke to you about a little while back is commencing end of January; the actual road the exhibition is concentrating on certainly had a Triumph dealership. Again, any info and I will let you know.

Regards.

Richard.

In addition to the rear window sticker image I have this photo of a branded yellow duster.

What is the most unusual dealer branded item you have?

Charles Clark were the feature business in the 48th post in my continuing series about Standard Triumph car dealers.

Early in their history the company was a coach builder. This Rolls-Royce Phantom II was sold for around £1 million in 1986 and subsquently auctioned by Bonhams.
