Soft top pocket

I have been meaning to ask this question for over a year. Today I put my roof down and went for a drive first time this year I have a Herald 13/60 convertable 1971. The vinyl roof has a pocket on the inside of the roof on the near side just behind the rear passenger. It is a proper pocket with a popper to stop anything inside coming out. Please put me out of my misery and tell me why is it there.

No good for driving glasses

Something for the weekend (in the back of a herald convertable don't think so)

It is the right size for a collapsable brolly

Come on guys we can suggest something better

What happens to the pocket when the roof is down? Does it fold? Is it still visible?

Hi Yes your slippers would fit

Yes a bottle would fit (non alcoholic of course)

And no when the roof is down the pocket is on the inside and cannot be seen.

 

And if someone can tell me how I attach a picture on here I will do it
