Lawrence
Hi, My transplant Type 9 g/box comes with an electronic speedo output - one option is to go with this and either get a new 'classic' style smiths speedo or... see if anybody on the forum knows of a way/source of info to convert the standard mech speedo to electronic feed or a supplier that can convert speedos? Thanks Lawrence

rlubikey
Lawrence, if you want a lowwww-cost solution and you're willing to forgo the odometer/tripometer function (odometer - legal requirement??), you can make one with a voltage-sensing tacho. I did this on the Atlas with an ABS sensor on the output flange of the gearbox (sensing the 4 bolts). I was all prepared to calibrate the tacho (see Hugh Glossop's Courier article on 4- to 8-cylinder tacho conversion) but found that my 3.7 diff just happened to give bang-on callibration. Your type-9 will give X-many pulses per revolution and you can calculate the answer, or do it by trial and error. Richard
