daverclasper
Hi folks Triumph Vitesse Mk1 2Litre. there is an electrical component fixed on the rear of dynamo, (grey plastic, sort of condenser shape, but larger) has a wire from it to the larger terminal on dynamo. Often wondered what it does as can't find a reference to it in manuals. Also is it worth carrying a spare for pos breakdowns. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers, Dave

dougbgt6
Stage one tuning on the Sinclair ZX 81 was a giant capacitor across the power supply. (Well, 3 inches long by 1 inch diameter). The rectifier in the power supply wasn't very good and the internal capacitor couldn't cope. As the power supply warmed up the computer said "That's enough!", shut down and you lost 2 hours work. Our Area Organiser makes quite a few extra pennies repairing and updating these old computers. I thought you should know.
