Mk4 Spit parts wanted

Hi all

Has anybody got for sale an early mk4 spit upper steering column with inner shaft and steering lock ?

Preferably midlands area.

The steering locks are getting thin on the ground, and can command quite high prices.

 

May be better to wrap the column in tape so it doesn't look like it ever had a steering lock, and mount a switch on the dash.

 

Hopefully the MOT guy will not remember the car is supposed to have a lock.

Not a problem for the MoT :

 

The inspection of the steering lock only applies to passenger cars with:

. a steering lock fitted as standard by the manufacturer, and

. four or more wheels, and

. not more than 8 passenger seats excluding the driver’s seat, and

. first used on or after 1 September 2001

If there is doubt as to whether a steering lock was originally fitted, the benefit of the doubt should be given.

I can fix the actual steering lock I have by fitting a new lock barrel. The parts I really need are the upper steering column with inner shaft.
