Whilst changing a fuel pump on a area car I spotted a odd patch on the lower

curve of the smiths heater blower housing on a vitesse

Unknown to its new owner it was a spare key stuck to the heater box with some black gaffer tape

pretty much invisble, thinks....thats not a bad idea

Inside the rear light lens was always a handy spot; although easily removed if located with any screwdriver. You also used to be able to buy little magnetic tins which could be secured out of sight anywhere around the bodywork.

However one of my favourite bits about my current 1200 convertible was reading the original handbook and finding a handwritten note which read: "Your spare keys are hidden under the screen washer bottle".

And they still were, 44 years later.
