Ricky
Hi I just wondered what a rough cost was for a retrim on a Herald, including carpets and retrimming the seats? All faded and worn so a complete job. I can price parts but would need a professional to do the work.
dougbgt6
I did my own seats, it's a simple job. Get seats out car, whip off covers, remove back an bottom foams, put new ones in place, wiggle on covers. Quite a few places do replacement seat covers and the interior foams for back and seat. I just got the foams from Park Lane Classics and put the covers through the washing machine. The foams cost me £120 I think. Newton commercial do a complete kits for Heralds, both front seats for £306. Rear seat kit £270, carpet set £220. Then there's boot carpet and door cards if you want to go the whole hog. But if you want someone else to do it there was a thread on here a couple of months ago and a company was recommended, I don't remember the name so I'm afraid you'll have to trawl through the old threads to find it! http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/cars/triumph-herald/model-158/seats/2747-herald-13-60-1296-triumph-seat-cover-upholstery-front-kit/
Colin Lindsay
There used to be someone advertising in The Courier as an exchange service; you sent him your old seats and he sent an already retrimmed set. They were also available in leather for an extra amount. As usual I don't have a copy to hand to check, but I'll be retrimming my own in the not so distant future and will just buy the components from whoever has the best recommendations.
