Hello All

Here we go again off on a jolly in Spitty.

This time we are going to SUNNY? Northern Ireland.

We sail from Liverpool tomorrow at 9.30am! so that will mean getting up at 4am!

We sail into Dublin and then make our way to Dundalk for the first night.

Then the plan is Portaferry 1 night, Belfast 2 nights,Ballycastle 3 nights, Buncrana 1 night,Dungloe 1 night,Omagh 1 night,Mulligar 1 night.

Then back to Dublin on on Monday to sail at 17.30

I think we will do 600 to 700 miles plus 200 miles in England

I have packed the Extra spares after the Spanish trip (Gearbox,Differential,Drive shaft, can not get the spare engine in?)

We are hoping this wind dies down so the crossing is not so rough.

We saw these at Shobdon on Bank holiday Monday on a route I sorted for Gloucester and Worcester TSSC

Must look out for the Spitty....

If you cross the border at Newry, drive along the A1 for nine miles and see a village called Loughbrickland... you're three miles from me. I'll wave as you go by...!!

By the way... bring an umbrella. The rain is the reason why I'm on the PC when I should be cutting grass... :)

Hello All

Well after travelling through torrential rain to Liverpool  they ferry was delayed for 4 hours(we had mixed messages!) So we did not get to our first night stop until 22.30!

But had managed to phone the hotel from the ferry and they organized a meal at 23.00 so we were pleased.

We have travelled up to Portaferry today via 2 ferries and some good scenery.

Off to Belfast tomorrow via Strangford Lough.

We saw this car getting off the ferry from our room window

Hello All

We are now in Ballycastle having spent 2 nights in Belfast seeing the sights and listening to live music and drinking(its hard work enjoying yourself?)

We travelled up the coast road then went in land and over the moors.

We are here for 3 nights to see the Giants causeway and do the rope bridge etc.

Spitty is still running ok but I think a few more rattles from some rough roads!

I picked up a new engine hoist it should do the job?

Last photo is from our bedroom window

Roger

ps can we tell how many views there have been with this new Forum?

Hello All

We got to bed at 01.00 after being locked in a pub listening to live music!

We even saw about 15 locals performing live music and dance at the community centre earlier!

We now in Omagh via a bit more Wild Atlantic Way and we meet the North West Vintage & Heritage Club in Killybegs.

They were just off for a run.

When we got to hotel in Omagh we found the Omagh Motor club are here for the Bushwacker Rally.

About 900 miles covered now

Roger

ps thinking of converting Spitty to run on Peat?

Hello All

I am not sure how many are reading these posts as I can not see a viewed count on new forum!

Still in case there is anyone not completely bored!

This is our last day of our Northern Ireland/Northern Eire trip we are now in Mullingar yet another town full of bars;) and music in several :D

Yet another dry day and hood down(the GODS must be on our side?) only one really wet day:)

We have covered 1000 miles from home so about 1150/1200 by the time we arrive home.

I would say to any of our club tour here the scenery is wonderful if you get dry weather and people are nice(we let 2 children sit in Spitty today to have their photos taken probably made their day! )

Some of the roads do rattle your teeth fillings!(must check all body mountings)

So that's it off to the Dublin/Liverpool ferry tomorrow now its time to hit one of the music barsB)

Some great pics there... glad you're enjoying it!

It's sad to see how many of those Irish cars have lost their original registration numbers; any of the plates with a date at the front (63, 69, 86 etc) are replacement issues, probably issued on import. It happens a lot in Northern Ireland too, but here it's more from sale of the original plate.
