sulzerman
Hi all My 2500 TC saloon is running very lumpy/jerky on overrun and low revs. At 25-30 mph in 4th gear the car shudders/hunts, if I drop down to 3rd it's ok At higher revs or at motorway speeds it runs very well indeed. The car has a pertronix electronic ignition, rebuilt distributor, recon cylinder head, rebuilt carbs , a chris witor camshaft, new timing chain and sprockets. I think it's a carb issue, anyone got any ideas? Thank you
Pete Lewis
Stick finger under carb jet make sure the jet is returning after you use the choke Pete
sulzerman
Hi Pete jets are fully returning, I have just topped up dash pots. Could it need stronger carb piston springs? Thanks Paul
JohnD
Balance the carbs? John

sulzerman
Up date The problem is now solved, due to weak mixture, due to MOT man 'adjusting' carbs. (I checked plugs and they were spotlessly clean.) Car now running like a dream
Pete Lewis
Maybe One advantage of no MOTs is over leaned mixtures that dont need to be and tighend front hub bearing that need to float Pete
