coxy123
Hi, fitting a steel bonnet onto the spit. I've noticed the wheel arch on the car doesn't line up with the bonnet arch. I've tried packing the joint at the overrider pivot, with very limited success. Any wisdom on this matter would be helpful
Clive
How is the fit to the bulkhead and doors? When you say "wheel arch on the car" do you mean the actual wheel?? Some pictures would be very helpful!
coxy123
The bulkhead gap is about 10mm and even all along. Door gaps can be altered on doors. Car had a fibreglass bonnet on it, so things may have been jiggled to accommodate that
dougbgt6
The bonnet swivel bracket on mine has an elongated slot which allows the bonnet to be set further back or forward. As I recall the swivel bolt doesn't go through this slot but is further forward.
Badwolf
I have just attempted to adjust mine as the catches wern't catching properly. Bit scary when then bonnet comes loose even at low speed. All the adjustments are inside the front chassis strut, under the plastic overider but take alot of fiddling to get right. Haynes manual was good for guidance.
