Hi I have vitesse 1600 should there be a centre box as well as back box mine hasent I get droning noise as certain speeds ease Orr accelerator it goes any help appreciated

Canley's diagram shows no centre section.

I have just replaced a 40 year old stainless system, stainless bits still OK, but welds fractured and baffles shot in rear box. It's the dead baffles that caused the drone for me.

Ah, sometimes the baffles aren't what they should be. Recommend the club shop systems.

the 1600 parts list does not have the centre resonator,  having said that many replacements do have it , but in rough pure terms it is only shown on Mk1 2 ltr

my 1600 had a centre box , no droning but wasn't  long before it all replaces with a  6-3-1 and 2 "pipes  and semi sports back box (from herald/ Vit6 1600 ) from club shop

this mix  sounds absolutely cracking. 

do make sure there is no contact with chassis rails and diff mounts to give you the contact drone when on /off power also check engine and gearbox mounts
