martyn wright
Hi, I have a 1966 Vitesse 6 Convertible and am in the process of sorting out the Rear Brakes. I removed the Rear Flexi Hoses and found that they are 4 inches longer than the recommended GBH175 Hoses. The GBH175 Hoses are too short when I tried to fit them, so I tried the Front Flexi Hose GBH216 and they turned out to be a better fit? Any Ideas!! Many Thanks Martyn
Guest
Hello Martyn. I have checked the ST Parts List Binder (1600cc) for the flexi brake hose part numbers, pertaining to your vehicle: front - 132958 rear - 115459 How the above equates to your hose codes I do not know, but at least you now have the correct ST reference to use as a x-ref. Hope that assists ?? Regards. Richard.
Guest
Martyn. Your GBH references are certainly correct. My additional observations are: 1. the wrong hose supplied against the part number 2. and this is a long shot, that the layout of the copper pipe at the rear of the vehicle has been laid out incorrectly; this may result in the correct hoses being too short. It's a highly unlikely scenario but worth mentioning in order to check. 3. is the rear running gear of the car standard - i.e. not upgraded from another vehicle. Regards. Richard. Pete Lewis
has it been converted to a swing spring ??? that changes the hoses/ route a lot Pete
martyn wright
Thanks too everyone replying! It is a possibility that the Brake pipes have been moved as they have all just been replaced by a Classic Car Engineer? I have replaced the proper coded rear Flexi Hoses with the front braded ones and they fit fine? Many Thanks again
