Darren Groves
In a bundle of Herald bits I bought I got a 10 spline clutch friction plate that measures 7 1/8" in diameter rather than the 6 1/2" that fits a Herald. Any ideas what it's from? Also, any ideas what to clean off any contamination from a friction plate whilst it's out of the car? Brake or Carb cleaner maybe? mishmosh
Brake cleaner works well
GrahamB
I read that carb cleaner can contain a trace of oil, but that could depend on the brand. Therefore I would only use brake cleaner which is formulated to be used in the vicinity of friction material. Graham
