Colin Lindsay
Interesting point in that; it appears the MOT exemption for VHI is NOT for the benefit of historic car owners, as they may maintain their cars to a high standard, but to reduce the number of tests being carried out on older cars, so as to enable simplification of reporting. It's nothing to do with road safety, but bureaucracy. They hope that exemption of VHIs will lead to a reduced number of MoT tests having to be undertaken on vehicles which were built to different standards than current vehicles and that this reduction will enable simplification of reporting.
