Tipidave
Hi All I am trying to trace the owner of a Triumph Herald 1200 that I used to own. Last known for sale on Hayling Island about three years ago. Any information gratefully received. Edited March 28, 2018 by Tipidave
dougbgt6
DVLA vehicle enquiry says it ran out of MOT on 30/06/2017 and Tax on 01/07/2017. It passed an MOT on 01/06/2016 with no advisories, but no attempted MOT in 2017. If it's in storage it should be SORN even if not MOT'd. But, no SORN, so not looking good. Tipidave
Thank so for the reply... yes I thought it a bit odd . Is there any way to find out if it has been scrapped. It wasn't in bad condition when sold to a dealer in Hayling Island about 4 years ago... I had previously had car for 25 years but sold due to divorce. I am keen to track it down but due to data protection have drawn a blank. I am hoping that someone here might have a lead! They are getting to be quite rare? Guest
DVLA do not disclose if a vehicle is scrapped on public access sites, only DVLA authorised authorities can access that information. I will make some enquires for you and see where it was last MOT'd - in my experience owners tend to get their cars MOT'd within ten miles of their residence. Of course there is nothing to say that the car has not been sold since the last MOT which of course will throw that theory out the window. Should be able to update you over the next few days allowing for Easter. Regards. Richard.

Tipidave
Ah yes... unfortunately it was registered in her name and sale was unavoidable ... i know it is a long shot... but as a friend once said... something will happen something always does ! Keep the faith indeed??

Guest
Hello Dave. DVLA have deleted MOT records pertaining to this car as the last MOT ISSUED (not expired) was in excess of 18months ago. There is no information to say it has been scrapped nor SORN. Hopefully it still exists, but as to its general location that is currently unknown. Sorry I cannot help further. Regards. Richard. Colin Lindsay
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C587889 David - was this the ad you saw at that time, or has this one appeared since?
Tipidave
Looks like the same ad. I have tried speculatively calling some classic car restorers in the to set area but no joy yet. ?
