Badwolf
I put one of these http://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/triumph-logo-badge-self-adhesive-2 On my 14" Mountney leather steering wheel. They also do this one http://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/steering-wheel-centre-badge-late-1500-models-2
DCZ1643
That looks nice Pete, I might have a look at wooden steering wheels.....
dougbgt6
DC, I would stick with leather, much nicer feel, you'll probably need gloves with wood. db
Badwolf
This is my Mountney, very nice to drive with. Got it from a scrappy years ago.. you know.. in the days when you were left to roam!!
Colin Lindsay
(I think) £15 off eBay, maybe even only £5... it was quite a few years ago now... padded leather with red stitching and stealth black paint. 13" semi-dished. The rim is so well padded you don't feel the road noise at all.

Makes me think this must happen quite often. For those who find themselves with a broken horn push Rimmers also sell them. RBs have the Triumph logo and of course are more expensive than Mota Lita. db
ShaunW
When I was 20 I wrote off my GT6. I kept the steering wheel as a memento. 34 years later it went back on a car again. I knew I'd use it again and frankly it means more to me than it probably should. It's probably going to go in my box with me eventually.
dougbgt6
Shaun what's the logo? Have you considered replacing the bolts with shiny new ones? db
ShaunW
The logo is a pair of crossed checkered flags with Mountney above and England below. Mmm those rusty cross heads aren't doing it many favours.

Clive
Blimey, not cheap are they! I gues the dome nuts are the expensive bit, and you don't even see them. I have used 5mm stainless domed allen headed screws from Toolstation for mountney etc in the past, and nyloc nuts. But it looks like semi-countersunk screws are required here. I would struggle with slot headed screws. How do you line the up?? Radially all towards the centre? All vertical when wheel is "at rest"? I would lose sleep......

Badwolf
I redid my bolts with stainless ones off an ebay company. I will look up the address for you.
dougbgt6
It's Rimmer Brothers! I think they must be related to Waitrose, "reassuringly expensive" Moto Lita do it cheaper but no domed nuts. Actually you can see them, on mine anyway. https://www.moto-lita.co.uk/accessories/screw-kit/ db

Badwolf
Shaun, have a look at these links to Spalding Fasteners on Fleabay. You might find something that suits your taste. Full range of washers etc too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-UNF-Pan-Slotted-Pan-Pozi-Countersunk-Slotted-Countersunk-Pozi/371112778886?var=640273852702&hash=item56680b9c86:m:mdpCtIR7utDlmUkJ-DzeqHQ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNF-Stainless-Steel-Nyloc-Nylon-Lock-Nut-3-16-1-4-5-16-3-8-7-16-1-2-9-16-5-8-3-4/291211447041?var=590365346431&hash=item43cd8e0b01:m:mQ_HjBCLy6xjCBUKwIcjdZA https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNF-A2-Stainless-Steel-Allen-Key-Socket-Button-Head-Machine-Screws-3-16-1-4-5-16/291244161347?var=590396889796&hash=item43cf813943:m:m7ho05jdj45c_QPhbbwe8eg By the way, I found one of those steering wheels in my spares box when I was looking for door linkage spares. 13" leather, complete with boss and centre. Just realised how much it was worth.
ShaunW
Cheers Badwolf. I think I'll go for countersunk allens. If I go for slots I'll just get Clive Syndrome about the alignment. Btw Clive, the answer is radially Badwolf, did I hear you say 'worth'?
dougbgt6
Shaun, I'm feeling bad about pointing out your rusty screws. I just found the second set of fixing screws I got from Rimmers when I bought my Moto Lita. I phoned them up to ask if it came with fixing screws as their ad wasn't clear. Somebody couldn't be bothered to check and threw a second set in the box. You're welcome to them if you want them? They're countersunk slot heads an inch long with domed nuts and washers for the back. And take no notice of Clive! Slot heads should be done up randomly, cover the others up as you tighten each one, so you have no reference point. Doug

Just like mine... Who mentioned OCD?! ? Gully
ShaunW
Thanks Doug, that's kind of you but you can hang on to them. I've learnt that once someone feels they owe you a favour...you should hang on until you need a big one When it comes to slot orientation, I don't know what I was thinking saying it should be radial, they should be either perpendicular to radial so as to improve aerodynamic efficiency when turning, or no specific direction so long as the torque is correct to 3 decimal places. Radial looks pretty but it really is style over function.
