Captive hinge plates

Does anyone know of a source for the captive plates in the door and behind the A post that the hinge bolts go into.

Mine have previously been drilled and tapped over size but are not really capable of taking the correct torque setting and the door drops after a while.

Can you get a nut on the  back of the plate

I turned mine round to rework them but the tub was off and that aids access to the Apost

There are rather thin , dont take much to strip them out if youmget heavy with the spanners

Thanks Pete, you mentioning nuts gives me an idea, if I can't find the plates I'll take out the existing and weld nuts onto them.

A bit of a pain but it would work.

A hole saw in the Apost to get a nut on works as for the door its just the door card off to get on the back 

Just use a loose nut , to lock the bolt once initial door setting has proved nothing fits anyway

Thanks ,I know my plan of action now,as you say nothing fits anyway.I just want to get my doors aligned.

Just had body restored on my Vitesse and the chap that did it cut 2 holes in each A post, took the old plates out, made new ones out of thicker plate and then welded the posts back up. It was a bit of messing about but the results are brill! I suppose however it's done, so long as it works and is an improvement its a good thing.                                                                                         Cheers, Rob
