NonMember
No bonnet handle, suggests it's not a 948.
Pete Lewis
Did the 1200 have the thin piped seats , 948 would have the grey vinyl dash not the wooden . We have a local fake coupe its on a 13/60 but has the 948 dash , Pete
Herald948
Hard to say for sure without a commission number (or someone who could track such information via the number plate). I personally am leaning towards it being a 948 that has gained some, er, "upgrades" (dash, boot lid, door trim cards) over the years.
fungus
could be a "stick a lod of bits together and call it a barn find" job the dash would be right going by the size of the speedo just with a after market faceing it even has the blue/grey stering wheel and collum. acording to the mot check site Date registered 9 September 1986 ? Colin Lindsay
Hard to tell; it could be an early 1200 coupe, but there appears to be a mixture of parts. I was trying to work out how the overdash had been fitted - you can see the large hole around the ignition switch, but can't work out how the speedo was done - the early coupes had two smaller dials, and the 1200 a large single one, but not one single small gauge in the centre - it looks like a Vitesse clock. It's got long grey indicator stalks but only three of the knobs are grey. The door cards don't match the two-tone rear trim, or the seats which look to be 948 versions if not early 1200. There's no bonnet handle, but there is the early grid pattern air intake, so it's possible the handle has been lost and the trim is a later single-piece strip. If I had to guess, I'd say very early 1200 coupe that has been modded over the years.
