Triumphgt6
I need to refurbish my clutch slave cylinder as it is leaking. Car up on ramps, pipework disconnected. I have the workshop manual. I have to undo the two bolts that hold the mounting bracket. They are on top and difficult to reach. If I get off not sure I could get them back on. Or do I have to go to the long method of removing the gear box cover. It is the original and well stuck down.
dougbgt6
Yup! Sorry, I've done this job. I tried to get the slave off without removing the cowl. The bolts turned out to be so long I couldn't get them out. So I had to take the cowl off. It comes off quite easily and quickly, (unless it's been glued in with tile sealant!) You might take the opportunity, while you've got it off, to think about heat and sound deadening.
