rogerguzzi
Hello All I have just bought a reconditioned differential and it is drilled for 6 studs Is it worth drilling my top plate and fitting all six or just put 2 grub screws Loctited into the differential it is on a Spitfire 1500 Roger
johny
I would have thought that your Spitfire 1500 has the 'swing spring' back axle set up in which case you can only use 4 studs to fix the spring to the differential casing. Anyway 4 studs is enough to keep everything in place and as you say the other holes should be sealed up....
rogerguzzi
Hello Johny Now I think about it you are right it is a swing axle Roger
Nick Jones
You'll only get 4 in there with a swing spring Roger. Just plug the extra holes ☺️
