Greasing rear trunnions/hub bearings

Recommended Posts

Hi. Have been doing mine about every 3000 miles and they take about 5/7 pumps of large gun before it comes out of hub inner side,  of hub/D.S seal.

Is this normal?, no evidence of it losing it/spraying around. Where does it go?.

Thanks, Dave

Somewhere it says 4 pumps in the rear bearing,  but whats a 'pump'

Amy excess leaves from the shaft seal you mention , and going the other way out through the outer oil seal and escapes into the grease catcher on the back plate and out via a drill hole to run down the back of the back plate just under the brg, housing  often  blocked.

So you get either a greasy shaft or slippery brake  shoes   !!
