sulzerman
Hi all When fitting core plugs should I use gasket sealant or just fit them dry? thank you
Darren Groves
I fitted all mine dry, but one did leak slightly. I removed and refitted a new one using this: http://r.ebay.com/Qep2w9 didn't leak after that. I think dry should be fine if all the mating surfaces are clean and free from any damage, otherwise a thin smear of a good quality sealant will do it. Pete Lewis
in general welsh plugs or bucket core plugs are fitted dry ,you dont want any slippery sealer or when under pressure they can 'pop'out something thats sets rather than any sippery silicon stuff would be best if needed again its all down to preference and whats in the cupboard. but dry is normal pete
