Spitfire MkIV, 1500, GT6 Mk III Bonnet Repair Section

Hi

I don't seem to be able to find a front edge bonnet repair section anymore? I remember them being available many years ago (pre heritage bonnets) but  now all I can find is the flat boomerang underside  repair panel or the reinforcement panels. I've tried sourcing spare bonnets but they're too good to butcher or rotten in the same way. Anyone got one hidden away in the bac k of the shed?

When I did my GT6's bonnet in 1993 I fabricated that repair with a bit of metal bashing. Took a non-trivial skim of filler to get the shape just nice but it wasn't too bad. It hasn't lasted until now, but that's mostly because the rest of the car got bad to the point that, in 2001, it got a full rebuild including a heritage bonnet because the wings were bad. The front edge was still OK at that point.

Try Chic Doig; he seems to be able to make repair sections of almost any part these days and he'd be my first point of call.
