Hicks
Hello all :), I'm new to the forum and thought I'd say hello! I'm the third generation in my family to own a Triumph: My Grandad once had a TR6 - My mum had a Spitfire and my dad had (still has but off the road) a GT6. The car I have is a heavily modified Spitfire 1500 which is part TR, part Spitfire, part GT6 - given the previous cars that have been in the family, it couldn't be MORE PERFECT 😍. The car in question has been in a few magazines over the years, and actually featured on the front cover of the Courier!! All the way back in July 1990 (the year after I was born, yikes..) - Issue 121 (attached!). Although that was back before it had it's new hood put on... I purchased the car a couple of years back, from a lovely chap, who, I believe, used to be 'Area Organiser' for Kent, which is where I'm currently based :). I've finally got round to joining up to the TSSC (partly because I'm having some issues with the car, and need some help) so I thought I'd better say hi :). Look forward to meeting everyone - hopefully I'll get out to an actual meet up when the car's running smoothly again! All the best, James

thescrapman
You would be far better off visiting the meets before it is up and running, that way you will get the assistance tio get it up and running and hopefully not make any mistakes on the way. Going to meets in Triumphs is definitely not compulsory!
Clive
I know the car well. It is a very good car, well built etc. Should be reliable and quick... Odd if there are any serious running issues? Do ask away.
Martin Marrison
James I will have to confess that I owned this car for 32 years and it was me that your brought it from. I am glad that you still have it. If you have any questions please let me know and I'll try and help? Martin Marrison 0781 232 6211
