daverclasper
Hi every one. Just reposting this as used the wrong section before, sory. Vitesse Mk1 2Litre had MOT advisory for the above showing cracking. Have looked at Haynes and Factory manual at it shows the sequence for suspension stripdown. Wondering it I can just split ball joint with everything else in situ and if anyone has done this. As always any advice much appriciated. clive
Yes, you can do as above. Obviously make sure the suspension is at full droop. Be careful where you source the replacement cover, some seem to last less than a year. I believe Amsteer sell decent ones, no doubt others too. Steve C
Good quality ones available from the club shop at £9.60. I find the Machine Mart compact ball joint splitter a handy wee tool for this job. Regards Steve

Barry Kemp
I would re-iterate that you should buy the best quality ball joints and track rod ends - I fitted mine two years ago and the rubber has perished on all of them . Less than 2000 miles..stored in the dry etc etc. Mine were part of a large order of suspension parts from a well known supplier...now I've just ordered replacements from the club shop.
