RonnieLad
Can’t find the original gap settings for the roller rocker shaft on my Spitfire 1500. Currently set gaps as per standard set up and it’s way noisier than it was. Any idea what they should be? Tried suppler and they don’t know!!! Clive
Gap is usually for the cam. Have you only just fitted roller rockers? I think many (all) require the external oil feed, though that will need restricting down to under 1mm and really the block to head feed for the original cam needs blanking off with a grub screw. I have roller rockers on my MK3 spit, along with a high lift cam. Yes, they are a bit noisier, but cam requires 18/22 thou clearances on mine. RonnieLad
Clive, thanks for the reply much appreciated. Sorry for slow response. RR shaft been on and running happily and quietly for past 4yrs until last August when the head gasket blew and it had to be taken to bits. I’ve got the upgraded oil feed to head. Normally after my much trusted garage have had it in they work miracles and it runs perfectly. This time it’s just right!
