Gadgetman
Does anyone know the thread / dimensions for the stud that goes in the exhaust & inlet manifold on a Vitesse ? part # 129619 seems to be no longer available and I want to make a stainless one it looks like 3/8 unc at one end and 3/8 unf the other but I haven’t got a 3/8 unc tap by at home to check
Guest
I believe that to be correct - the various British cars I have worked on have those thread sizes. Regards. Richard.
Anglefire
Why stainless? I didn't think stainless was always the best material due to it not being as strong (in some parameters at least). Curious that's all!
Colin Lindsay
Is this a 1600? I've just had a quick scan of Canley's site, the stud is listed as NLA but Paddocks are showing it as available, although they have it listed as 101962: http://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/manifolddownpipe-stud-16002-litre-mk1-3 Rimmers have it listed as part number TE605105. 1 1/4 x 5/16 seems to be the size, if I'm locating the correct bolt - manifold to downpipe? Gadgetman
Hi Colin thats the wrong stud unfortunately . That one is the down pipe to manifold not the intake to exhaust manifold. Also I’m going for stainless as it doesn’t corrode like the mild steel ones do., no real issues with Strength in this location
Colin Lindsay
Aw...thought I was on a winner there, but it's the way the diagram is expanded that confused me. I'd try Chic Doig if you want to source one; he can usually find odd bits like this or else at the very least confirm the threads.
