daverclasper
Hi. Need to dispose of 40 litres, about 30 percent petrol/70 diesel mix. On the off chance, Could the large bulk plastic, engine oil ones that garages use be used (or likely to melt the plastic), does anyone know please?. Thanks, Dave
dougbgt6
Local tip may take it. Phone the council to find out. Fire brigade might take it, they are always setting fire to things for training.

I assumed Dave was expecting the local tip to take it but isn't expecting them to collect 😛

Colin Lindsay
Sounds like a vehicle fuel tank.... mixup at the pump? Council oil disposal tanks will take it - at least my local will so assume they're all the same - provided you can get it there.
Pete Lewis
maybe try a company that specialises in reclaiming cock ups at the pumps , pete
thescrapman
I would have thought an older technology Diesel engine would run fine on it, as is, or just add a gallon at a time into a tank full of normal diesel. The petrol will be very dilute

Simple! I can remember an older generation of the family telling me about running out of petrol once and running the car on whiskey to get home... Harry Ferguson lived within twenty miles of me, and his early tractors are still very sought-after over here. It's interesting to note that a deal with the Ferguson Tractor company by Sir John Black in 1945 was stated by him to be a means of raising funds to develop new cars, which would lead to the Triumph Motor Car Division... so buying one of those would literally be going back to our roots.

One owner / farmer about 300 yards from me reputedly has over forty of them, plus other brands too. I had to check this one out to make sure it wasn't painted in Herald rocker-cover gold, but it's not the same shade...
