daverclasper
Hi. When delicately lifting the piston 1mm or so, is it only for a fraction of second. Any longer and it seems to stall anyway regardless of setting, unless the mixture is very rich, then revs will rise and stay that way?. Cheers, Dave Edited March 6, 2020 by daverclasper
Pete Lewis
no its just a touchy feely lift of a 1-2 mm for a short time , the response/hint of up 50rpm rich down 50rpm lean or no change is just at the time of the lift its not a violent change or anything dramatic , call it a hint of change , holding it up will induce rough or stall if that makes sense Pete
johny
Once youve got the correct response on the carb(s) you can do the fine tuning driving. I progressively weaken the mixture a quarter of a turn at a time until it starts to hesitate on a steady throttle then back it off so I know I really am getting every last inch out of my fuel. Obviously keep an eye on your spark plug colour, oh and dont go driving up any mountains!

And is that grey, rather than brown, when cruising/higher revs, with modern fuels?.
johny
I use Millers VSP so quite a brown colour but as long as theyre not white and melted youve not gone too weak😲😁
