hardhatharry
So while I find time to do the sills I decided to rebuild the gearbox and overdrive of unknown history I bought years ago and has been hanging around my workshop. Luckily (or unluckily) I was bought an plastic gearbox tunnel from Moss as an Xmas present which never turned up and after much negotiation money was refunded which I spent on a full gearbox rebuild kit from Paddocks. Tapping with hammer and brass drifts failed to release the main bearings so raiding my mates garage I found a bearing puller that should work, what could possibly go wrong.... After more jiggling and worry success (yes I know its a bit messy at the moment but you try storing a whole spitfire in a workshop). Success!! Paint!! Cleanup ( who is R.B?) Got a bit stuck with end float so I have posted stuff in help section

Got a bit stuck with end float so I have posted stuff in help section I’ve just done something similar and Heath-Robinsoned together a puller out of one that was too small and a load of M10 studding I scavenged from our greenhouse base. RB could mean ‘refurbished by’ so you can write your own name in sharpie on it when it’s back together
Badwolf
I would be very worried about opening up the door gap in this way in case I altered the whole 3 dimsional state of the body shell. I assume that you were matching the measurements on the other side, not only for door gaps but width, height etc. I would also be worried about creasing or buckling or distorting the other panels along with the gaps for the boot lid. You might find this link interesting, I did.... https://brm-forum.org/thread/43/1973-triumph-spitfire-collected

DJB350Z
Any paint yet? I'm interested to see what the colour coded front spoiler looks like, otherwise I'll have to photoshop it.
