Hi Paul. Do you mean the ones that covers the self tappers, each side of map pocket?. If so, I was chatting to a Guy at Moss who said they had something like that for Spits, though I don't know if it's the same?. I think Herald 13/60 used them as well.

I need one (and the claw fastener) myself.

Spit Graveyard must have lot of old trim bits. I keep forgetting to ask as them, when I buy something off them.

Hi Dave I can’t find the claw button holder anywhere so probably going to use this mod   , painted of course

Progress: Checking out the inside of the door found surface rust by the window channel and surrounding areas about 6 ins range . Wire brushed and treated with Bilthamber Hydrate 80 , and now Bilthamber Electrolux ( zinc based primer ) Next coat will be spray can black from Toolstation . Final coating for all the inside will be Bilthamber Dynax s50 which has a 360 wand extension . The door base and lower half still has the factory under seal and pretty much intact . Any breaks in the underseal will be filled in by the Dynax . The chrome trim had been removed and the rusty retaining rivets drilled out .Not sure of the spec and where to purchase

When I was stripping out the mechanicals there were signs that I wasn’t the first to strip , bolts instead of posidrive screws and no poly sheeting attach to the window base . On clearing out the debris I found small fragments of shattered window .

The door is now fully stripped to component parts with the quarter light out and top rivet removed . Next job is to kill the internal rust in the door and add a protective coating using Bilthamber products though not sure which products to use yet

The rear window channel has a layer of felt which is passed its best. Any ideas where this can be sourced ?

Hi Paul -

I have used some Black felt from Woolies (87-2-1/16).

To get the correct thickness to hold the glass I folded over one edge by 10mm and glued it down with some contact adhesive.

It looks like it was meant to be and is far better fit than any of the off the shelf channel that I bought.

Progress : the door has been rubbed down and filled , the scratch and surface rust areas treated . I’ve progress from 140 grade up to 400grade wet n dry , Just one coat of primer to see if the surface finish is ok ie covering the remaining surface blemishes . I’m happy with the result so far , a few small areas need more work  .Next the remaining areas will be prepared with 400 grade and the next coat of primer will go on .

One ? How can you tell if the door skin is original . On mine there is some braze welding at the top seal by the hinge plus the odd small weld on the side

Cheers Paul, top tip. Have found some on Ebay very cheap, and look similar in colour to the blue of my interior.
