daverclasper Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 Hi. Just wanted to check I'd understood these figures please Exhaust manifold outer studs,x2, 22-24 lbf (hope this not too high, as new studs, look they are copper?) Exhaust/inlet clamps, x6, 22-24 lbf Inlet studs, x2, 14-16 lbf Inlet to exhaust (the one underneath that clamps the bodies together, I assume?), x1, 22-24 lbf Thanks for any info. Dave
NonMember Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 That looks about right. The torques are fairly low because the manifolds have to be able to creep. In particular, if you fit high tensile studs to the exhaust outer mountings and tighten them real tight... your exhaust manifold will likely crack fairly soon.
daverclasper Posted September 10, 2020 Author Report Posted September 10, 2020 (edited) Thanks for that. I didn't find the manuals descriptions that clear. Edited September 13, 2020 by daverclasper
